Repairing damaged MS Access 2000 file after receiving 'Unexpected error 35012' error message

Access is a file-system based relational database management system which has Microsoft Jet database engine as its default engine. It has a support for Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programming language that enable its users to create user defined functions and add other functionality to the database. The Access databases are prone to corruption. You may not get to notice the minor corruption issues as they are easily sorted by the Jet database engine in the normal course of operation. However, if someone quits the application without properly closing the connection first, may lead to unexpected results. Corruption may also be severe in cases when multiple users are trying to access the database simultaneously over a network. To overcome such corruption issues in Microsoft Access, you need to go for Access database repair through a reliable third-party utility.

For instance, you may come across the following error while trying to open an MS Access 2000 database file:

“Unexpected error 35012 ”

Cause:
Access database contains one or more damaged objects, such as corrupt tables, forms etc.

One or more corrupt database components may make you whole database inaccessible resulting in such errors. As a result, you will lose all the important data stored therein. Here, you can use a backup to restore your data to a safe place. If you don't have a backup try to follow the given steps.

Resolution:
Follow any of the below given resolution methods-

I) Using 'Compact and Repair' feature:

Microsoft Access 2000 has a powerful feature 'Compact and Repair' that can be used to perform Access repair of the corrupt database file even when you are unable to open that particular Access file. You can find this option in the 'Tools/Database Utilities' menu.

II) Importing corrupt database objects:

Create a new Access database.
From the 'File' menu, go to 'Get External Data' and Click 'Import'.
Now try importing all the objects of your corrupt database to this new database.
If you are unable to import a particular object, you may restore it from a backup.

The above resolution steps may not be effective in all cases of database corruption. To repair Access file and restore all the valuable database objects in such circumstances, you should take help of an efficient third-party Access repair software. These software can repair damaged database tables, macros, forms, reports, views etc. They facilitate selective repair of all database components.
